On August 10-12, Charles Penzone

, Inc. will take part in Pelotonia for the third year in a row. Pelotonia is a grassroots bike tour with one goal: to end cancer. 100% of every dollar raised for Pelotonia goes directly to fund cancer research at OSUCCC - James.
If you take a glimpse at our
Peloton page, you’ll notice that many donations have been made in memory of Dr. Lee Howard. Dr. Howard was the husband of one of the original four Charles Penzone team members, Jaqi Howard, and thus a member of our family. He unexpectedly passed away in January of this year.
Dr. Howard was a state record holder in cross country and track, an avid weight lifter and a nationally ranked cyclist. He once rode along with the Tour de France and had the time of his life doing so. He admired Lance Armstrong’s tenaciousness and strived to always LIVESTRONG.

“Although my husband never rode in Pelotonia, we have both supported it from the beginning,” says Jaqi. “We felt that when he passed away, in lieu of flowers we wanted to support a charity. Because of his love for cycling, we thought Pelotonia would be a great charity to make donations in his name.”
Jaqi’s son Connor, who is a support team member at The Grand Salon in Dublin, will be riding in Pelotonia for the first time this year as a member of the Charles Penzone peloton.
“I consider myself more of a runner than a cyclist,” says Connor. “But I’m signed up for the 50-mile race and am very excited.”
Connor plans to ride in honor of his father and will be using one of his father’s bikes.
“I can’t wait to be at Pelotonia to watch my son and the rest of the Penzone team cross the finish line,” says Jaqi.
You can help support the Charles Penzone Peloton by donating

If you make a $25 or more contribution to our peloton, you will be entered to win a $50 Charles Penzone gift card. We will draw a winner every month June-October. Winners will be notified individually. Thank you for helping us get one step closer to our goal: ending cancer!
